Portland Homicide Detectives Seek Suspect After Portsmouth Shooting Victim Is Identified
PORTLAND, Ore. — The individual shot and killed in the Portsmouth Neighborhood on Thursday afternoon has been identified, but the shooter or shooters have yet to be arrested.
Thirty-four-year-old Tyron Butler died shortly after the shooting at North Fessenden Street and North Haven Avenue at 4.46 p.m. on June 11.
EMS transported Butler by ambulance to the hospital, but attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
The suspect or suspects had fled the scene by the time officers from the Portland Police Bureau’s North Precinct arrived at the scene.
This is an ongoing investigation by detectives from the Homicide Division.
- June 11, 4:46 p.m. : Officers respond to the shooting.
- At the scene : Butler is found injured on the sidewalk.
- Afterward : EMS takes Butler to the hospital.
- Later : Butler dies despite lifesaving efforts.
- June 12 : Police identify Butler and ask for tips.
