Utah Teen Missing for 18 Months Found Safe in Oregon With a 39-Year-Old Man

The teenage girl reported missing from Utah in May 2025 was found by Oregon law enforcement on Sunday, November 1, 2026, in the company of a 39-year-old male, resulting in a stern warning by the FBI.

“To anyone using gore groups to target and exploit children: the FBI and our partners are coming for you,” warns FBI Director Kash Patel.

The discovery of the 17-year-old ends a one-and-a-half-year search by the FBI’s Salt Lake City office and the Rich County Sheriff’s Office in Utah.

The FBI credited assistance from Oregon State Police, FBI Portland and the Utah Department of Public Safety. The 39-year-old man was taken into custody without incident.

The FBI Is Using Every Tool at Its Disposal to Protect America’s Children

Patel said in a press statement: “We are using every tool at our disposal to combat nihilistic violent extremism, bring offenders to justice, and protect America’s children.”

Patel said he was grateful that the girl, who went missing from Garden City, Utah, can return home.

No further information will be released as the case is still under active investigation.
