Medford Homeowner Shoots Suspect During Alleged Break-In as Police Use Drones to Find Him
MEDFORD, Ore. — A 21-year-old man from out of state is recovering in the hospital from a gunshot wound inflicted when he allegedly attempted to rob a residence in the 800 block of Gilman Road in Medford on Sunday night.
According to a Medford Police Department report, the homeowner fired shots when the suspect attempted to break into the home at around 10.47 p.m.
When officers arrived on the scene, the family safely vacated the premises, and the police established a perimeter around the home.
Using drones, the police were able to locate and communicate with the suspect.

- Dispatch report : A break in is reported and shots are fired.
- Arrival : The family leaves the home safely.
- Drone search : Police locate Robertson inside.
- Afterward : Robertson is taken into custody and hospitalized.
Nathan Robertson was taken into custody without incident. He was suffering from a gunshot wound. He remains in police custody while receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
Police confirm that Robertson, who is from out of state, was staying at a hotel located close to the scene of the shooting.
He has not been formally charged, and the case remains under investigation.
