Two-Year-Old Found Dead in Rural Jackson County After Early Morning Search

JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. — The Major Assault and Death Investigation Unit (MADIU) has been called in to assist in an investigation into the death of a two-year-old toddler in Jackson County’s rural Central Point.

MADIU combines investigators from multiple Jackson County law enforcement agencies for serious death investigations, allowing participating departments and the District Attorney’s Office to share personnel and expertise.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) received a report of the missing child in the 9900 block of Blackwell Road at 4.30 a.m. yesterday.

Assisted by Oregon State Police troopers, JCSO deputies immediately began searching for the child. The toddler was found deceased at 5.41 a.m.

The case is under active investigation, and detectives are following new leads, according to a statement by the JCSO.
