Oregon Murder Case Returns to Court After Fiancée’s Body Was Found in Snowbound Car
Thirty-five-year-old Jon French, charged with second-degree murder, will appear before Judge Celia Howes in the Multnomah County Circuit Court on October 12, 2026.
French is accused of murdering his fiancée, Jeannie Enyeart, whose body was found in rural Skamania County, Washington State, in January 2024.
According to court documents, French approached a Skamania County road department worker on the morning of January 29, 2024, and asked for a lift to his cousin’s nearby property. French’s vehicle appeared to be stuck in the snow.
Portland police later confirmed that the vehicle was registered to French’s fiancée.
His cousin told police that when French arrived at his property, he appeared to have injured his hands.
Later that same day, Enyeart’s son reported his mother missing.
French told the police that he had last seen his fiancée on January 28, and that he believed she had either been kidnapped or left voluntarily with a drug dealer named Julius.
Investigations revealed that the couple had frequent arguments, and neighbors confirmed that they last saw her on the night of January 27, when she was in a car with French.
Police found Enyeart’s body on the back seat of her vehicle, and a search warrant of her home uncovered a broken mug, a piece of which was found in the back of her body.
