The Southern Oregon University football team is inviting fans to join in welcoming it's 2015 recruiting class and to be a part of its 2014 awards banquet.

The Raiders are holding a signing day party today, on national signing day, at Granite Taphouse, which is located at 23 N. Main St. in Ashland. The festivities will begin around 5:30 p.m. as coaches, current players and incoming local signees will join.

The 2014 football awards banquet will be held at Ashland's Belle Fiore winery, which is located approximately 1 1/2 miles up Dead Indian Road, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 14. Guests are asked to pay $25 per person for a brunch buffet.

The Raiders will be honored and hang their 2014 NAIA championship banner at halftime of the Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech basketball game on at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 14 at Riehm Arena.

 

College Basketball

The Southern Oregon University men dropped five places to No. 17 and the SOU women remained at No. 13 in this week's NAIA Division II men's and women's basketball polls, released Tuesday.

The SOU men (19-5) dropped after splitting a pair of home games last weekend, losing to Northwest Christian. The Raider women swept Corban and Northwest Christian to improve to 19-3.
