Salem Man Arrested After Three Explosive Attacks Rock Private Residence and Damage Vehicles
SALEM, Ore. — Douglas Kiser (38) of Salem has been arrested in connection with three explosions at a private residence in the 5700 block of SE Woodside Drive. Salem Police say in a press release that the owner of the property is known to Kiser.
When Kiser was arrested on Tuesday, 29 April, members of the Bomb Squad found an improvised explosive device while searching his parked vehicle.
The case is under investigation by the Salem Police Department and the Bomb Squad whose members arrested Kiser as he walked into a business in the 5700 block of SE Commercial Street.
The Series of Three Explosions
The first explosion occurred on 23 April during the early hours of the morning. Police discovered damage to a vehicle parked in the driveway of the home caused by an improvised explosive device.
Shortly after lunchtime on 25 April, the second explosion occurred in the front yard of the property, with a third explosion taking place shortly after 10 p.m. on 28 April. This explosion again caused damage to a vehicle parked in the property’s driveway.
Kiser is in the Marion County Jail facing three counts of reckless endangerment and three counts of criminal mischief.
