Woman Shot Dead in Tigard Apartment Parking Lot as Murder Suspect Arrested Nearby

TIGARD, Ore. — A woman died from a gunshot wound in the car park of a Tigard apartment complex shortly before 8 p.m. on Friday, September 4.

Forty-two-year-old Christopher Fisher has been arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of second-degree murder and the unlawful possession of a firearm.

Oregon requires life imprisonment for second degree murder, with at least 25 years served before a person can become eligible for parole consideration.

The case is under investigation, and the identity of the deceased woman cannot be disclosed until her next of kin have been informed.

The shooting occurred in the 9000 block of SW Washington Square Road. Despite life-saving measures, the woman died on the scene.

When the police arrived, witnesses said they had seen a man shoot the woman. He had then fled on foot.

The suspect was located in the vicinity shortly afterwards and arrested.
