Man Sentenced to 22 Years After Mother of Three Was Killed in Portland Shooting

PORTLAND, Ore. — A man who shot three people, killing a mother of three in Portland in 2023, was sentenced in the Multnomah County Circuit Court yesterday to 22 years in prison.

According to court documents, William Watson (34) had traveled from Washington with his Outcast Motorcycle Club to Portland to attend a party hosted by the Oregon chapter.

Tidings Insight
Watson was arrested in Washington nearly a year after the shooting. Portland police said U.S. Marshals and Joint Base Lewis McChord investigators helped locate him.

At 4 a.m. on October 15, 2023, a fight erupted among party-goers, and spilled onto Southeast Foster Road near 86th Avenue.

The mother of three, Cali Bolden (26), was standing on the sidewalk with a friend who began filming the fight with her phone. This annoyed Watson, who pushed the woman and grabbed the phone.

He Pulled Out His Firearm and Started Shooting

Court records reveal that when another friend tried to intervene, Watson pulled out a firearm and fired several shots. Bolden was struck and died on the scene.

A bullet also struck her friend, and a man was shot by Watson eight minutes later.

Watson pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter, a felon in possession of a firearm, and first-degree attempted assault.

Tidings Insight
A plea to manslaughter resolved the case without a murder trial, but still led to a long prison sentence tied to the fatal shooting and other victims.
