Portland Airport Passenger Arrested After 38 Pounds of Marijuana Found in Checked Bags

PORTLAND, Ore. — Twenty-four-year-old Jihad Ibrahim Muhammad appeared in the Multnomah County Circuit Court yesterday (Monday) after he was arrested for checking in more than 38 pounds of marijuana at Portland International Airport last Friday.

Muhammad is facing charges that include the unlawful possession of marijuana and the illegal import or export of marijuana items.

A probable cause affidavit reveals that Transportation Security Officers were called to the Checked Baggage Resolution Area at 1.30 a.m. on July 10 after luggage containing a large amount of marijuana was discovered by security agents.
