Oregon Woman Who Chased Children With SUV Outside Gresham Dollar Tree Gets Probation
An Oregon woman who chased four children in her SUV after they allegedly threw rocks at her vehicle has been sentenced to three years of formal probation, drug-and-alcohol treatment, and mental health treatment.
Alyssa Jean Williams (29), of Fairview, was sentenced on Friday following the incident, which occurred on December 1, 2025, at a Gresham Dollar Tree.
Police Found Her Holding a Can Of ‘Space Gas” Up To Her Mouth
When police arrived on the scene, they found Williams seated inside her SUV, holding a canister of ‘Space Gas’ (nitrous oxide) up to her mouth.
The police believed that Williams was using the nitrous oxide as an inhalant, according to court documents.
Williams told the police that she had chased the children in her SUV because they had thrown rocks at the vehicle. The police could not detect any visible damage to the SUV.
One of the children told the police that Williams had used a racial slur and called them derogatory names.
The 13-year-old claimed that she had threatened to beat them up before driving her vehicle at them. Another child claimed that he and a friend were forced to jump into a bush to avoid being struck by Williams’ vehicle.
A defense attorney told the sentencing hearing on Friday that his client had voluntarily joined a treatment program, and Williams expressed regret about her conduct, admitting that she had experienced ‘a meltdown’ at the time of the incident.
