PacificSource Has Shed a Third of Its Oregon Workforce Since 2025, With 134 More Layoffs Announced

PacificSource is cutting another 134 permanent jobs in Oregon, bringing the number of layoffs announced at the Springfield-based health insurer to over 600 since summer 2025.

The latest layoffs come as the company scales back parts of its business and the regional health insurance market faces mounting pressures.

Another Round of Layoffs Affects Four Oregon Cities

The latest job cuts will affect employees in Portland, Bend, Salem and Springfield. PacificSource said the reductions emerged from its decisions to exit certain markets and reduce its business offerings.

In summer 2025, the company had about 1,800 employees, but the latest announcement brings the total number of job cuts since then to over 600- a third of its workforce.

Company Filing Details Permanent Oregon Job Cuts and Employee Notification

In a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing dated October 20, PacificSource confirmed that the 134 Oregon employees would be permanently laid off effective Dec. 31, 2026.

The company said this is driven by its planned exit from the Montana market and its individual insurance line of business, as well as workforce adjustments across all lines of business in Oregon.

PacificSource indicated that affected employees were being, or had already been, notified of their separation at least 60 days before the scheduled date. The filing also confirmed that no affected employees would have the right to displace other workers and that no union represents them.

The formal notice identifies four affected employment sites:

  • 2965 NE Conners Avenue in Bend;
  • 1500 SW First Avenue, Suite 200, in Portland;
  • 4263 Commercial Street SE, Suite 400, in Salem;
  • 555 International Way in Springfield.
