Oregon Woman Gets Jail Time After Throwing Dog Against MAX Train During Argument

PORTLAND, Ore. — An Oregon woman, who threw her small poodle-type dog against a MAX train and kicked it in the face during an argument with her husband, has been sentenced to 15 days in jail and three years of probation.

 

Husband Says She Was Under the Influence of Cocaine and Methamphetamine

According to court documents, the husband of 23-year-old Windy Gabrielle Jones told a county deputy at the scene that his wife was under the influence of cocaine and methamphetamine, and that she had taken out her anger on her dog.

Jones was convicted on charges of second-degree animal abuse and second-degree disorderly conduct following the incident on August 20, 2025, at a TriMet MAX station in downtown Portland.

Court documents reveal that an argument developed between the couple at the Southwest Fifth Avenue and Southwest Jackson Street station.

Responding officers reported seeing Jones yanking a small white poodle-type dog by the collar, before picking it up and throwing the animal against a MAX train.

A Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office deputy stated in an affidavit that Jones then picked up the dog and kicked it in the face.

They said the dog’s head smashed into the train door, and then into the cement on its way down.

The officers state in the affidavit that when they arrested Jones at the scene, she was aggressive, acting erratically, and shouting.

Her dog, Milo, appeared dazed after the incident and was taken to a veterinarian for treatment before being transferred to county animal services, according to court documents.
