Oregon Man With 48 Misdemeanors and 7 Felonies Gets Life Without Parole
Forty-one-year-old Joshua Cory Nealy has received a true-life sentence – life imprisonment without the possibility of parole – after a long history of criminal offenses, including attempted rape, sexual abuse, and public indecency.
Judge Theodore Sims imposed the true-life sentence in the Washington County Circuit Court following Nealy’s conviction for public indecency and second-degree theft.
Starting in 1999, Nealy’s life of crime includes 166 arrests, 48 misdemeanors, and seven felony convictions. Robbery and assault make up the rest of his criminal history.
His true-life sentence following his plea of guilty to public indecency was imposed under the Oregon Statute ORS 137.719, a presumptive sentence for a sex crime that is a felony following at least two previous convictions.

According to court documents, Nealy walked into a clothing store at the Washington Square Mall in January 2023, where he pocketed a pair of sunglasses and then asked a female employee for a dressing room in which to try clothes.
Nealy then called the employee to the dressing for assistance, and proceeded to expose himself and to ask her to have sex with him.
Nealy was transferred to the Oregon Department of Corrections to serve his sentence.
