Klamath County Hit by Wave of Roof-Entry Burglaries Targeting Local Businesses

KLAMATH COUNTY, Ore. — The Klamath County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) issued an alert yesterday warning of a recent surge in commercial burglaries, which they are currently investigating.

In many of the Klamath County commercial burglaries, suspects gained entry through the roof, stealing property and causing significant damage.

KCSO reminded the public  that their eyes and instincts are a powerful part of keeping the community safe and gave this advice on the recent spate of business burglaries:

If you see someone on the roof of a business, especially after hours, call 911 immediately.

Install a high-quality security camera system- it’s one of the best tools you can have.

KSCO strongly recommends cloud-based security systems with automated backup footage online, as they’ve seen several cases where suspects stole DVR recording devices to prevent law enforcement from accessing footage. Cloud-based systems ensure that even if equipment is stolen or damaged, the video evidence remains secure and accessible.

KCSO reminded everyone: If you see something, say something!
