Eugene Stalking Suspect Arrested After GPS Tracker, Disguise and Protection Order Violations, Police Say
EUGENE, Ore. — An alleged stalker has been arrested by the Eugene Police Department (EPD) following a week-long investigation during which the victim was granted a stalking protection order.
Clinton Louis Stockbarger (49) allegedly crashed into the victim’s vehicle, on which a GPS tracking device was found. The woman had been repeatedly followed and harassed, according to the EPD.
Stockbarger was disguised in a wig and mask when he appeared at the victim’s workplace last week, and she then found a message he had left on her doorbell camera when she returned home later that day.
EPD says Stockbarger also violated the protection order by emailing and calling the victim.
He was Arrested In a Traffic Stop
Stockbarger was arrested when patrol officers located his vehicle. EPD detectives and drone operators were called to the scene, where they saw Stockbarger climb into his vehicle and drive away.
He was followed and arrested in a coordinated traffic stop at West First Avenue and Seneca Road by the EPD’s SWAT team.
Stockbarger was lodged at the Lane County Jail and faces multiple charges, including stalking, harassment, reckless endangerment, and the unlawful use of a GPS device.
