84-Year-Old Klamath Falls Man Arrested After Fatal Shooting of Alleged Vehicle Thief

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — An 84-year-old man from Klamath Falls has been arrested after allegedly shooting a suspect, who died from his injuries, trying to break into his vehicle during the early hours of Friday morning.

The victim was found lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds when Klamath Falls Police Department officers arrived on the scene in the 500 block of Market Street at 2.53 a.m.

The victim was admitted to Sky Lakes Medical Center for treatment, but later died from his injuries.

During an investigation by the Klamath County Major Crime Team, detectives identified the shooter as John Bush, who allegedly opened fire when he found the victim attempting to break into his vehicle.
