Portland Police Investigate Buckman District Shooting That Left Man Dead

PORTLAND, Ore. — A man died after a shooting incident in the Buckman district during the early hours of Saturday morning. Portland Police Bureau Homicide detectives are investigating.

This was Buckman’s second homicide in three days. Colton A. Mincey, 35, was fatally shot August 26 near the Eastbank Esplanade, and that case also remains open.

The shooting took place around 2.30 a.m. in the 700 block of Southeast 12th Avenue. The suspect(s) had already fled the area when officers from the Central Precinct arrived on the scene. The victim was deceased.

Portland recorded 13 firearm homicides through July. The city’s 12 month rolling average of gun violence homicide victims was down 6%.
