Oregon Triple Homicide Suspect Accused of Killing Woman Who Once Posted That She Loved Him

“I love you Bryan Moore,” are the heartbreaking words written by Jenna Overston on her Facebook profile about the man who shot and killed her in Sandy on Sunday.

Although the Sandy Police Department has not revealed the personal link between Bryan Andrew Moore and Jenna Overston, her Facebook profile paints an intimate relationship.

In a photograph of Jenna with her killer on July 5, 2024, the 37-year-old writes, “I love you Bryan Moore.” The couple is both smiling happily.

 

Shooting Ended in the Deaths of Three People and the Injury of an Oregon Policeman

That all ended on Sunday in a multiple killing in which 39-year-old Moore is accused of the deaths of Jenna, 70-year-old Mary Beth Overston, and a 16-year-old teenager, Kobyn McClure.

A Sandy Police Department Sergeant, Garrett Thornton, was seriously injured during an exchange of fire with law enforcement officers.

The tragedy unfolded when Sandy police and Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a domestic disturbance and shooting at 4 p.m. at an apartment complex on Evans Street, Near Ross Avenue.

On arrival, law enforcement officers immediately came under fire from an occupant inside the apartment. It was during this exchange of fire that Sgt. Thornton sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital in a LifeFlight helicopter.

Five-and-a-half hours after their arrival, the police held a brief press conference during which they announced the deaths of three people inside the apartment, and the shooting of the police sergeant.

 

The Shooter is in Custody and Faces Multiple Charges

Moore finally surrendered without further incident. He is facing murder charges, as well as the kidnapping of two individuals whom he held as a shield or hostage. He is also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Moore is in custody in the Clackamas County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on June 8.

The Clackamas Interagency Major Crimes Team is investigating the officer-involved shooting.

Meanwhile, the police have announced the death of multiple victims in the shooting, but it is unknown at this stage if more than three people have lost their lives.

Mourners have started an online fundraising campaign for Jenna Overston and three surviving children.
