Oregon Gas Hits $5.30 a Gallon as State Ranks Fourth Highest in the Nation

Oregon is ranked as the 4th highest average gas price nationally, with the cost at pumps now $5.30.

Drivers nationwide have been affected by fuel increases caused by surging crude oil prices as the U.S.-Israel war with Iran continues.

The price of gas has risen in all 50 states this week.

 

Gas Costs 82 Cents a Gallon More in Oregon Than the National Average

Although gas costs 82 cents a gallon more in Oregon than the national average, the state has managed to curtail this week’s increase to 19 cents a gallon, compared to a 31-cent-a-gallon leap elsewhere.

According to the AAA, the West Coast has the most expensive pump prices in the U.S. All seven states in the region are ranked in the top 10.

 

California is the Only State Where Pump Prices Exceed $6 a Gallon

California outstrips any other state, maintaining its highest average nationwide for the 13th consecutive week at $6.13. California is the only state where pump prices exceed $6 a gallon.

Second is Washington at $5.71, third is Hawaii at $5.55, fourth is Oregon at $5.30, followed by Nevada at $5.20, and Alaska at $5.114.

Despite the West Coast’s elevated gas prices, the region nevertheless recorded the smallest week-over-week increases, compared to many parts of the country. The increases were Alaska 29c, Oregon and Washington 19c, Arizona and California 17c, Nevada 13c, and Hawaii a modest 1.5c.

The cost of gas has leapt substantially since the U.S.-Israel war against Iran began with airstrikes on February 28, when the average price in Oregon was $3.92 a gallon.

Other gas price comparisons reveal that Oregonians were paying $3.33 at the end of January 2026. The price tag is now $5.295.

Nationally, the gallon price was $2.83 at the beginning of the year. That now stands at $4.483.

Compared to a month ago, when the national average increase was 37 cents, Oregon has managed to curtail its increase to 31 cents.

The cost of diesel in Oregon has increased by two cents to $6.25 a gallon, with the national average price at $5.66 a gallon.
