New Asante Gastroenterology Clinic Opens in Medford as Demand for GI Care Surges Across Southern Oregon

MEDFORD, Ore. — Asante Gastroenterology Clinic opened in Medford yesterday, as the healthcare provider steps up towards long-term sustainability and growth of GI care for patients throughout southern Oregon.

Medford Asante Gastroenterology Clinic Now Open

Southern Oregon patients suffering gastrointestinal health issues now have a new clinic. After years of working collaboratively with Gastroenterology Consultants, PC, Asante bought the practice, and the Asante Gastroenterology clinic opened yesterday.

Tidings Insight
This clinic focuses on outpatient GI care: visits, testing, and procedures like colonoscopy. Because Asante acquired the practice, the same clinicians can keep seeing patients with Asante scheduling, staffing, and hospital backup.

The former practice’s three physicians and five advanced practice providers are now Asante employees.

Tidings Context
Advanced practice providers are nurse practitioners and physician assistants. They handle many evaluations and follow ups, which can expand appointment access while gastroenterologists focus on procedures and complex cases.

They will still be seeing patients in the new clinic. The clinic will expand services through future recruitment drives.

Adam Mougey, MD, Asante Gastroenterology, said, “By joining a local, well-respected organization, we are expanding access to care and improving resources for recruitment to support the needs of patients.”

With gastroenterological services in high demand in the region, the clinic offers colonoscopies, treatment for digestive and liver conditions, and management of chronic GI disorders.

Here is a quick Oregon snapshot showing why added colonoscopy capacity matters.
