Coos County Man Accused of Running Toxic Drug Lab Across From Two Schools
COOS COUNTY, Ore. — Coos Bay resident Richard Joyner has been arrested for operating an illegal, clandestine drug laboratory within a thousand feet of Bunker Hill Elementary School and The Lighthouse School.
He was lodged at the Coos County Jail for the unlawful manufacture, attempted distribution, and possession of fentanyl and methamphetamine.
His arrest followed a search of his home by the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team (SCINT) on April 14 at 93760 Adams Lane, situated across the street from the two Coos Bay schools. Five people, including Joyner, were taken into custody.

A Search of the Home Revealed a DMT Lab Emitting Toxic Gases
During the search, SCINT officers observed a *dimethyltryptamine (DMT) lab inside Joyner’s home.
The Emergency Response Team (ERT) immediately contacted the Coos Bay Fire Department’s Hazardous Material Team (HazMat) who notified law enforcement to keep their distance from the lab which was emitting toxic gases.
Samples of the suspected DMT have been sent to the crime lab for testing, and all DMT found at the property was confiscated and will be destroyed.
A search of the residence uncovered several restricted weapons, two explosive devices, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.
