Washington Man Arrested for Brandishing Machete in Eugene Restaurant Dispute Over Electronic Device Sale

When employees at the Jade Dumpling and Noodle House in Eugene argued with one of their wives about an electronic device she had sold them, her husband allegedly threatened them with a machete.

The incident occurred at lunchtime on Thursday, and the Eugene Police Department (EPD) has arrested a 20-year-old man from Washington, Antonio Ispas.

According to the EPD, while the argument was taking place at the restaurant on Willamette Street, Tiejun Su (50) grabbed the woman’s phone to stop her from leaving the restaurant. To protect his wife, Ispas allegedly retrieved a machete with which he threatened them.

The machete was found by the police in Ispas’ vehicle and he was then transported to the Lane County Jail and is now facing charges of menacing. Tiejun Su has been cited for first-degree theft.
