Teen Arrested After Gunshot Sparks 11-Hour Police Search in Grants Pass, Officers Say
GRANTS PASS, Ore. — After an intensive 11-hour investigation, a 15-year-old male juvenile was arrested by officers from the Grants Pass Police Department following a shooting incident earlier in the day.
The incident began to unfold when police officers received a report of a gunshot in the 500 block of SE J Street on Sunday.
On arrival at the scene, the police established that a firearm had been discharged and, after a safety search of the neighborhood, confirmed that no one had been injured.
Law enforcement officers then launched an intensive investigation that led to the arrest of the juvenile 11 hours after the initial shooting report.
He is lodged at the Juvenile Detention Center on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, and reckless endangerment. His identity has not been disclosed because he is underage.
