Portland’s Homicide Surge Continues as Man Found Dead in Old Town Shooting

PORTLAND, Ore. — A man died in a shooting in Old Town, Portland, on Sunday, bringing to at least 11 the number of homicides recorded in the city since the beginning of the year.

Officers from the Portland Central Precinct received a report of shots fired at 7.03 a.m. at Northwest Naito Parkway near the Steel Bridge. An adult male was dead on the scene when police arrived.

There were no suspects on the scene, and no arrests have yet been made, according to the Portland Police Bureau, whose Homicide Unit is investigating the case.
