Pet Goat Killed in Oregon Burglary – Man Jailed After Showing No Remorse

An Oregon man was sentenced on Monday to 38 months in prison and three years supervision after burglarizing a property in Dallas last October, and killing the family pet goat.

Matthew Alan Luker (50) appeared before Judge Rafael Caso in the Poly County Circuit Court on charges of first-degree burglary and aggravated animal abuse.

Judge Says the Man Displayed No Signs of Remorse

Passing sentence, Judge Caso said that Luker displayed no signs of remorse for his actions.

According to court documents, Luker said he went to a property off Salt Creek Road on 13 October 2024, after smelling meth which he believed was being produced on the property.

Luker also broke into a trailer on the property and killed the pet goat because it was staring at him.

When Luker left the property in his pickup truck, a neighbor followed him. Police later placed him under arrest.
