Oregon Medicare Advantage Members Get Notices as Providence Exits Most Insurance Plans
Providence Health Plan is busy negotiating the transition of members insured through its Medicare Advantage program to another insurer.
The assurance was given in a company statement following its May announcement that it will transition out of most of its insurance offerings beginning in 2027.
Providence has also begun mailing written notices to members, confirming its withdrawal from most of its health insurance plans from next year.
The OHA Says Continuity of Care is its Top Priority
The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) has confirmed that it is assisting Providence with the transition of Medicare Advantage members. OHA states that ‘continuity of care’ is its top priority.
Medicare Advantage members can rest assured that their healthcare coverage will remain unchanged until the end of 2026, according to Providence. The company has also indicated that it will honor all regulatory, contractual, and legal obligations during the transition.

Members can continue to see doctors, fill prescriptions, and access healthcare services until the end of 2026. The processing of claims, billing, and authorizations will also remain unchanged.
Providence assures that agent and broker contracts will continue to operate under existing terms, and employers will provide members with additional information about the 2027 coverage options, as and when they become available.
