Medford Calls on Residents to Help Shape the City by Joining Local Boards and Committees

MEDFORD, Ore. — The Medford Mayor and City Council issued a notice yesterday asking community members to put their hands up to serve on several local Boards, Commissions, and Committees.

The current Medford vacancies include:

Art Selection Committee3 years (expiring 01/31/2028)Two full-term positionsThe committee meets as needed and advises the City Council and Parks and Recreation Commission on the selection and acquisition of public art.  Committee members help implement the Public Art Selection and Acquisition Policy.
Art Selection Committee – Youth Member1 year (expiring 06/30/2025)One partial-term youth positionTo give students a voice in public art decisions. The committee meets as needed and advises on the selection and acquisition of public art.
Budget Committee4 years (expiring 01/31/2027 and 01/31/202Two partial-term positionsAppointees will also serve on the Medford Urban Renewal Agency (MURA) Budget Committee, which typically meets once every two years to review and recommend MURA's budget. The committee meets mainly in the spring to review the City's proposed budget before it goes to the City Council.
Unified Appeal Board2 years (expiring 01/31/2026)One partial-term positionMeets only when called and serves the role of boards established under the Uniform Building, Plumbing, Electrical, and Mechanical Codes. Applicants should have knowledge or experience in the building field. This is an at-large position.
