Longtime Oregon Bookkeeper Accused of Quietly Taking More Than a Quarter Million Dollars From Employer
A 59-year-old Albany woman is facing nine charges of aggravated theft for embezzling more than a quarter of a million dollars from her Linn County employer.
Jodi Faye Kenagy had been working as a bookkeeper for Michael Dean McHenry, the owner of Safe-Lock Self Storage, McHenry Remodeling, and Emroe Properties, for more than a decade.
At her appearance in the Linn County Circuit Court on Monday, Kenagy was charged with nine counts of first-degree aggravated theft between September 2021 and August 2025.
Kenagy is on conditional release until her court hearing on January 12, 2026. Until then, she is not allowed to make contact with McHenry, or work or volunteer in a fiduciary capacity.
