In-N-Out Meets City Officials With A View To Opening A Restaurant in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. — In-N-Out Burger, as famous for its iconic burgers like the Double Double and Animal Style fries as it is for its long drive-thru lines, is set to meet with the city of Portland about building its first potential location in Portland.

Portland May Soon Have An In-N-Out Restaurant

The city of Portland indicated that The Irvine, a California restaurant, filed an application for an early assistance meeting.

The company wants to start talks with the city to help the developer better understand its requirements before In-N-Out files for building permits. The restaurant may be near Portland International Airport at Northeast Airport Way and Holman Street.

The proposal includes 61 parking spaces and a 31-car drive-thru, but there are concerns, especially about long drive-thru lines in other locations. An application in Beaverton was initially declined, but earlier last year, the city gave In-N-Out the go-ahead.

There are currently four In-N-Out locations in Oregon, and the one closest to Portland is in Keizer. The company has started work on a location in Ridgefield, Washington, which is set to open later this year.
