Fentanyl Dealer Busted in Douglas County After Weeks-Long Narcotics Investigation
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. — A weeks-long Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) investigation has resulted in the arrest of an alleged fentanyl dealer, 60-year-old Robert Dennis, of Riddle, on Thursday.
DINT detectives launched an investigation after receiving reports that Dennis was dealing fentanyl throughout Douglas County.
During the investigation, they compiled evidence of multiple suspected drug sales committed by Dennis, who is also the subject of two recent DINT investigations in which he was arrested and charged on suspicion of several drug-related crimes. The cases are currently pending prosecution within the court system.
On the evening of July 24, DINT detectives, aided by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), pulled Dennis over at a traffic stop on Riddle’s First Avenue.
A search of his vehicle revealed suspected fentanyl, baggies, and a digital scale, consistent with the presumed distribution of controlled substances.
A later search warrant executed at Dennis’ residence in the 1000 block of Yokum Road in Riddle yielded more drug-related items, including baggies, spoons, scales, and suspected methamphetamine. DINT seized 18.9 grams of suspected fentanyl and 1 gram of suspected methamphetamine.
Dennis was lodged at the Douglas County Jail on charges of:
- 4 counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule II;
- 4 counts of Unlawful Delivery of Controlled Substance Schedule II;
- 4 counts of Unlawful Manufacture of Controlled Substance Schedule II;
- Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine;
- Felony Driving While Suspended.
