Coos County Man Jailed After Allegedly Firing at Woman During Domestic Violence Incident

COOS COUNTY, Ore. — A domestic altercation involving multiple gunshots and attempted strangulation ended with the arrest and incarceration of Kai M. Dendy by Coos County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Oregon State Police.

Dendy (38) has been charged with attempted murder, first-degree kidnapping, two charges of felon in possession of a firearm, the unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, and fourth-degree domestic assault.

The incident occurred late on Monday night in central Lakeside. During an investigation, officers learned that Dendy had fired a weapon in a woman’s direction multiple times. He is believed to have been smoking methamphetamine.

Dendy was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he remains in custody.
