West Salem Burglary Unravels Organized Oregon Crime Ring Operating Across Willamette Valley

A residential burglary in West Salem on Thursday, during which an estimated $40,000 jewelry was stolen, has led to the arrest of seven people allegedly involved in a Eugene-based burglary crime syndicate.

 

Woman Found Two Burglars Inside Her Home

Salem Police patrol officers responded to a residential burglary in progress in West Salem, where the occupant of the premises found two suspects inside her home. The suspects fled in a vehicle that was later established to be connected to a burglary syndicate under investigation by Eugene Police.

Detectives from the Salem Police Felony Crimes Unit quickly identified the suspect vehicle and began processing the scene. Salem Police investigators and the Salem Police Crime

Lab worked alongside Eugene Police investigators to canvass the neighborhood and gather additional evidence.

SWAT members from the Eugene Police later served a search warrant at a Eugene residence where they arrested seven suspects in connection with the investigation.
Salem detectives are working closely with Eugene Police to recover and return the stolen jewelry to Thursday’s burglary victim.

This case now forms part of a larger investigation into organized burglaries targeting business owners across the Willamette Valley. Charges are expected to be brought in the ongoing investigation.
