Video Shows Suspect Moments Before Fatal Ashland Shooting on ‘A’ Street

ASHLAND, Ore. — The Ashland Police Department (APD) released video footage of a person of interest in the shooting of Matthew Mark Vandersande on ‘A’ Street early Sunday, September 7.

After joining forces with several law enforcement agencies, APD investigators identified persons of interest after the deadly ‘A’ Street shooting. Police have now released video footage from a surveillance camera immediately before the shooting.

Vandersande was found dead next to his car, which is well-known to many in the Ashland community, near ‘A’ Street and North 2nd Street. The suspect was seen wearing dark clothing, fleeing toward North Pioneer Street on ‘A’ Street.
