Two Arrested After Shooting Outside Medford’s OK Market; Victim Hospitalized
MEDFORD, Ore. — Medford Police arrested two people yesterday in connection with a shooting at the OK Market at 1192 N. Riverside Avenue in Medford.
Medford Police officers responded to the OK Market on Saturday at approximately 5:19 p.m. after receiving a report of a disturbance and information that a person had been shot at. Preliminary information indicates the suspects and the victim exchanged words before the shooting, after which the suspects left in a vehicle.
On arrival at the OK Market, the officers found the victim. They provided aid while additional responding units secured the area and broadcast suspect information. Patrol units found the suspects in the area shortly thereafter. Both suspects were cooperative and taken into custody without incident.
The passenger, Juan Carlos Rodriguez, 47, was identified as the shooter and arrested on charges of Assault in the First Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The driver, Osbaldo Rodriguez, 25, was later charged with DUII and was also lodged in jail.
The victim was treated at a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.
