Three Arrested After Man Found Naked and Critically Injured in Klamath Falls Dies, Turning Case Into Homicide Investigation
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. โ Three people have been arrested after a man, found naked and suffering from life-threatening injuries in an empty house in Klamath Falls, died from his injuries, escalating the case to a homicide investigation.
His death dates to a welfare check call received by the Klamath Falls Police Department (KFPD) on the morning of February 26.
On arrival at 875 Cypress Avenue, the police immediately arranged for the victim of the assault to be transported to the Sky Lakes Medical Center, where he was stabilized before being transported to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend.
However, the man succumbed to his injuries, escalating the case to a homicide investigation under the Klamath County Major Crime Team.
One Female and Two Males Arrested in Separate Incidents
The first suspect arrested was Jamie S. Harrington, a 49-year-old female who was transported to the Klamath County Jail the day after the victim was found. She was lodged for first-degree kidnapping and first-degree criminal conspiracy to murder.
The following night, on February 28, the second suspect was arrested during a high-risk traffic stop. He is 34-year-old Reggie L. Townsend Jr., who was lodged at the Klamath County Jail on charges of first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, the unlawful use of a weapon, tampering with evidence, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Then, on the afternoon of Monday, March 2, the third suspect was located during a traffic stop. Wesley J. Powless was taken into custody without incident, lodged in the Klamath County Jail, and charged with second-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree assault, and tampering with evidence.
