Roseburg Teacher Arrested After Deputies Link Him to Misconduct Allegations in Developmental Learning Center Program
ROSEBURG, Ore. — A 35-year-old teacher from the Fremont Middle School in Douglas County has been taken into custody on allegations of initiating unwanted and offensive physical contact with several special needs children in the school’s Developmental Learning Center program.
His detention relates to an incident reported in the Daily Tidings on February 14 about two instructional school assistants from the school who were arrested on suspicion of injuring two special needs children at the Developmental Learning Center in Roseburg.
Erich Michael Hoque (23) and Brian Joseph Marsters (60), both of Roseburg, were lodged in the Douglas County Jail on charges of fourth-degree assault and first-degree official misconduct.
Following that incident and ongoing investigations, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reviewed additional evidence and conducted further interviews. This led to information that a teacher, Nathan Terrance Williams of Roseburg, initiated unwanted and offensive physical contact with several of the special needs students between January 28, 2026, and February 6, 2026.
Deputies Transported the Suspect to the Douglas County Jail on Wednesday
Deputies took Williams into custody on Wednesday and transported him to the Douglas County Jail, where he was lodged on six counts of first-degree official misconduct and six counts of harassment.
In a statement to the press, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) states that it has worked closely with school district administrators who were responsive and cooperative throughout the investigation.
