Roseburg Man Arrested After Drilling Hole in Church Van’s Fuel Tank to Steal Gas

ROSEBURG, Ore. — The Roseburg Police Department arrested a local man who admitted drilling a hole in the fuel tank of a van at the Roseburg Christian Fellowship- with the intent to steal fuel.

The confession came when law enforcement approached him, and he likely knew there was probable cause to arrest him. After taking him into custody, officers found he had a little under a gram of methamphetamine.

He was lodged at Corrections on charges of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, but now faces charges of Criminal Mischief in the first and second degrees, Unauthorized Entry into a Motor Vehicle, and Theft in the third degree.
