Oregon Schools See Record Attendance and Best-Ever 9th-Grade On-Track Graduation Rates

The percentage of Oregon 9th-graders on track to graduate is the highest ever recorded in the state, according to data released by the Department of Education (ODE).

Yesterday, the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) released data for the 2024-25 school year, providing statewide comparisons of schools and districts in attendance, assessments, ninth-graders on track to graduate, and five-year completion rates.

Historically Marginalized Students Obtained the Highest Percentages Ever Recorded Statewide

Highlights of the 2024-25 school year also reveal that some of Oregon’s most historically marginalized students obtained the highest percentages ever recorded in the state.

Apart from the At-A-Glance School and District Profiles, the Oregon’s Online Report Card has also been updated, making information more accessible and transparent to parents and families.

The new dial data visualizations enable easy access to see how their children’s schools compare to other schools in the district and statewide.

The report shows that school attendance is at its highest post-pandemic level. More students were enrolled in kindergartens, as well as students in foster care.

Other achievements included a notable increase in proficiency among 3rd grade ELA (1.0 percentage point), and 8th-grade math (2.1 percentage points) in statewide tests in October.

ODE is adding new dial features to the Oregon Online Report Card, which was launched at the beginning of the year. Parents can now view school, district, or state indicators, such as regulars attendance at elementary and middle schools, and ELA, math, and science classes.
