Oregon Repeat Offender Busted on I-84 With Prepackaged Meth Shipment

Theodore Ernest Jokinen (48), who earlier this month was detained by The Dalles Police officers who found 10 pounds of prepackaged suspected methamphetamine in his vehicle, appeared in federal court yesterday, charged with possession with intent to distribute the synthetic stimulant.

He Has Numerous Previous Convictions for Dealing in Drugs

Jokinen, of Madras in Jefferson County, who has numerous previous convictions for the delivery of a controlled substance, is currently on pretrial release in a Jefferson County case as a felon in possession of a firearm.

His appearance yesterday relates to an incident on September 19, 2025, when Jokinen was seen driving westbound on Interstate 84 near The Dalles by detectives from the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team (CODE).

CODE investigators were working on a tip-off that Jokinen was returning to Oregon with a consignment of methamphetamine for local distribution, which he had allegedly collected in Yakima, Washington.

He was stopped for a traffic infraction by officers from The Dalles Police Department. A K-9 alerted the police to the presence of narcotics, and a search of the vehicle uncovered 10 pounds of prepackaged suspected methamphetamine inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
