Oregon Man Gets Life Sentence After Shooting Parents as They Slept

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — “Too much fighting and too much drinking” prompted 59-year-old Christopher Allan Turner to murder his elderly parents, resulting in his life imprisonment sentence on Friday.

According to court documents, Turner shot and killed his father, Paul Turner (89), and his mother, Beverly Turner (84), as they lay sleeping in their bed at their home in Mohawk Valley, Springfield.

Their bodies were discovered on February 23, 2025, by his sister, who visited the house in the 36000 block of McGowan Creek Road after not being able to reach her parents by telephone.
