Oregon Man Accused of Firing Arrow at Deputies During Eviction Standoff

Bows and arrows, bean bag shotguns, chemical munitions, and a police chase painted the scene that unfolded in North Bend when law enforcement officers tried to process an eviction order.

Two Coos County Sheriff’s Office deputies narrowly missed being struck by an arrow when they visited a unit at 2398 Broadway Avenue on Thursday to serve an eviction order.

They were greeted by Jimmy R. Oiterong (37), who threatened the deputies with a *compound bow and arrow.

The deputies responded by firing less lethal rounds from a bean bag shotgun, and Oiterong then shot an arrow at the lawmen, narrowly missing them both.

Munitions were then deployed into the residence by members of the Coos County Emergency Response Team (ERT), resulting in Oiterong using a back door to flee the scene.
