Oregon Families Can Apply for $120 Summer Food Benefits Per Child Starting June 5
Oregon families can begin applying online for a one-time payment of $120 in summer food benefits for each eligible child starting Friday, June 5.
The Summer Oregon EBT is a food nutrition program designed for children during their summer holidays.
Immigration Status Does Not Determine Eligibility
Applicants are reminded that the Summer EBT program does not inquire about immigration status and does not use that status to determine eligibility.
Families who can apply include those whose household incomes meet requirements for free or reduced-price school meals and whose children attend schools that participate in the National School Lunch Program, or the School Breakfast Program.
Summer EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) provides children with $120 in grocery benefits when school is out for the summer. The benefit can be used to purchase food from authorized retailers in participating states, territories, and Tribes.

Families Who Receive Other Food Benefits Are Also Eligible for Summer EBT
Food and Nutrition Administration, operating within the U.S. Department of Agriculture, says families who already receive SNAP, WIC, and summer meal program benefits are also eligible for Summer EBT.
Summer EBT can be used to pay for fruit and vegetables, meat, poultry and fish, dairy products, breads and cereals, snack foods, and non-alcoholic drinks.
However, the benefit may not be used to purchase hot foods, pet food, cleaning and household supplies, personal hygiene items, or medicine.
