Oregon Breaks Ground on 1,171 Affordable Homes in Cities From Portland to Grants Pass

The construction of 1,171 affordable homes across Oregon begins this month in Beaverton, Dallas, Grants Pass, Portland, Salem, Tigard, and The Dalles.

The project is undertaken by Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS) at a cost of $291 million to offer safe and affordable homes to senior citizens, veterans, and previously homeless families.

The project has involved more than 40 partners in a statewide collaboration to narrow the critical shortage of affordable housing in Oregon.

This month, construction will begin on the Quarterdeck Apartments in Dallas, the Allenwood Apartments in Grants Pass, and other developments in Beaverton, The Dalles, Portland, Salem, and Tigard to meet local needs.

Funding will be provided from several programs, including the Local Innovation and Fast Track (LIFT) and Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH).
