Medford Police Crack Down on Retail Theft: 12 Arrested in Target Operation

MEDFORD, Ore. — Officers involved in the Medford Police Department (MPD) ‘s proactive retail theft enforcement operation arrested 12 people at Target.

Funded by an Oregon Criminal Justice Commission grant, MPD partnered with Target in a retail theft operation. Aside from the direct effect on the 12 people arrested, the operation is expected to have a spillover effect, helping deter crime at neighboring businesses.

Police say they understand we understand how hard it is for employees to watch thefts daily. Yet, no one appears to be held accountable. The retail theft operation proactively stopped theft and also encouraged and protected employees.

Any businesses seeking to join the MPD retail theft operations should contact Lt. Don Lane at 541-774-2292.
