Medford Neighbor Hears Breaking Glass Confronts Suspect and Helps Stop a Burglary in Progress
MEDFORD, Ore. — Thanks to a watchful Medford neighbor, a burglary in progress was abruptly halted when a suspect fled the scene on foot after being confronted by a neighbor.
The Medford Police Department reports that the incident occurred last Friday night at a residence near the 100 block of Tripp Street.
An alert neighbor contacted the police department and reported a burglary in progress. The neighbor told police that he immediately checked his neighbor’s property after hearing the sound of breaking glass.

He located an unknown male dressed in a black and white hoodie and dark jeans, trying to gain access to the home through a broken window. He was carrying a backpack.
The suspect fled the scene on foot after being confronted. He was not found, despite a thorough check of the area by responding officers.
In a press release, the Medford Police Department says the incident served as an important reminder to neighbors to look out for one another.
“The quick actions of this resident helped stop a burglary attempt, and allowed officers to respond immediately,” states press release.
