Klamath Falls Man Faces Four Attempted Murder Charges After Gunfire Hits Fire District Vehicle

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — A 50-year-old Klamath Falls man has been arrested for attempted murder following a shooting incident in which a woman was injured.

The incident occurred during the early evening on Sunday, September 13, 2026, when the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shooting in the 1500 block of Arthur Street.

On arrival at the scene, officers were told that Klamath County Fire District 1 personnel were already at the residence providing medical care to an injured woman when an argument occurred between two men in the home. Law enforcement was called for assistance after the personnel separated the two men.

An ambulance transported the injured woman to Sky Lakes Medical Center for treatment.

Then, while fire personnel were still on the scene, Lance Bennett allegedly exited the residence and fired a handgun in the direction of the other man involved in the earlier dispute.

No one was injured in the shooting, but a bullet struck a Klamath County Fire District 1 vehicle, causing damage.

Bennett was arrested and is lodged in the Klamath County Jail, pending arraignment. He has been charged with four counts of second-degree attempted murder, the unlawful use of a weapon, second-degree disorderly conduct, and first-degree criminal mischief.
