Join Oregon Park Rangers for Fall Cleanup at Golden and Silver Falls State Natural Area

COOS COUNTY, Ore. — The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) invites Oregonians to join park rangers at Golden and Silver Falls State Natural Area for the park’s fall cleanup event, scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 13.

There is something for everyone to help with, and the work required includes cleaning up the parking area and conducting trail work at the park. The park is approximately 25 miles northeast of Coos Bay.

Golden and Silver Falls State Natural Area cleanup details:

  • The work will take place outdoors
  • Volunteers should be comfortable using hand tools and wearing work gloves.
  • To reach the service site, you’ll need to travel a short distance, on uneven ground, and through trails.
  • Remember to dress for the weather. Closed-toed shoes are recommended.
  • Wear something you don’t mind getting dirty.
  • Bring a water bottle and a sack lunch.
  • Bring work gloves if you have them, but some will be provided in case you don’t.
  • Snacks will be provided.
