Jackson County Fair in Oregon Now Underway
JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. — The Jackson County Fair kicks off to an exciting start for the 2024 summer season. There’s something for everyone- animals, food, interesting vendors, and more.
Vendors Setting Up For Jackson County Fair
The Merchant Vendor Manager for the Jackson County Fair, Ali Leffler, said the fair is “almost like Christmas for the fairgrounds.” Right now, everyone is excited as vendors set up the day before the fair kick-offs.
Excited to come out and showcase what they have to offer visitors, Expert Mobility’s Dustin Vallee said it’s more than just showing off what they have. Connecting with visitors traveling from further away, the fair also gives vendors a chance to connect with local residents. He said, “It means a lot.”
As an agricultural adventure- or “agriventure” as it’s called on the website, animals at the fair are things visitors always look forward to every year. There are goats, sheep, cows, and pigs. At the fair with her pig, Rhubarb, Kirstalyn Bowser-Smith says it’s fun and she loves being at the fair. Kirstalyn and Rhubarb are “just ready to go out there and rock it.”
She doesn’t have a stressed-out pig, having raised them since she was 4. She has also helped her older siblings take care of their pigs.
Things To Do At The Jackson County Fair
Many go for the amusement rides, but there are also fun games and carnival food on offer. Concerts will be held at the Bi-Mart Amphitheater and there’s also the main event: the Jackson County 4-H & FFA Junior Livestock Auction. On the sidelines, there are Barn Tales At the Krouse, Barker, and Poultry Barns and the Isola and Olsrun arenas.
Sponsored by the West Family Foundation, kids under 12 get free admission every day, and courtesy of Ray’s Food Place, everyone gets free admission on Sunday.
