Illegal Marijuana Grow With 5,000 Plants Busted in Josephine County

JOSEPHINE COUNTY, Ore. — The Josephine County Sheriff’s Office indicated that an illegal marijuana site in Cave Junction was dismantled, one man was arrested, and four firearms were seized at one of the properties on July 23.

During the execution of two search warrants, the Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team (JMET)identified illegal grow sites in the 4000 and 5000 blocks of Holland Loop Road. In collaboration with several federal and local agencies, JMET seized and destroyed approximately 5,000 marijuana plants.

34-year-old Joseph Aaron Barany was arrested and charged with unlawful manufacturing and possession of marijuana. Numerous code violations were also identified at both sites, potentially leading to the civil forfeiture of the properties.
